Visit of the Shandong Nutrition & Health Food Industry Association Delegation

DR. Ali Husein, SS., MSi, Acting Chairman of ICBC, delivered his remarks stating that we welcome a highly influential industry delegation deeply involved in biotechnology, nutritious health foods, and health technology. The delegation undertook a long journey to conduct in-depth research on the Indonesian market environment for nutritious health foods, explore pathways for industry development, and investigate viable opportunities for bilateral trade cooperation and project implementation.

The Indonesia China Business Council will provide a comprehensive and detailed briefing on key information regarding official Indonesian market access policies, compliance regulations, and market operation standards for the nutritious health foods industry. We hope to build an efficient cooperation bridge through this in-depth face-to-face discussion, promote proper alignment between the high-quality Shandong nutraceutical biotechnology industry and the Indonesian market, facilitate pragmatic and mutually beneficial cooperation, and jointly explore the blue ocean market of Indonesia's health industry.

Liu Mengmeng, Secretary General of the Shandong Provincial Association of Nutrition and Health Food Industry. This association primarily comprises manufacturing companies, such as those producing hyaluronic acid, Ganoderma lucidum, Traditional Chinese Medicine, health products, and nutritional supplements. The aim of this visit is to strengthen economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Indonesia in the medical and health product sector and to study Indonesia’s development. We also welcome ICBC members to visit Shandong Province to further promote exchanges and economic cooperation between the two regions.

Gu Ruoyi, General Manager of International Trade, Shandong Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., introduced the business scope of Hongjitang. Founded in 1907, the company is a predecessor of Tongrentang in Shandong. The company has primarily engaged in exporting traditional Chinese medicine products and raw materials worldwide for over 70 years, including more than a decade of exports to Indonesia. Its products include donkey-hide gelatin and Angong Niuhuang Wan, mainly through intermediary trade.

Hasan Kosasih, Acting Vice Chairman of ICBC, spoke at the meeting and introduced ICBC members. He stated that the formation of the Indonesia China Business Council aims to foster economic development between China and Indonesia. He hopes the Shandong Province medical and health industry will drive Shandong companies to invest in Indonesia, highlighting the benefits of investing in Indonesia, a stable policy environment, the friendliness of the Indonesian people, and significant business opportunities in cultural tourism, health, and education. The Indonesia China Business Council provides comprehensive support in these areas.
